I am thinking about getting some neon blue underlights for my 2000 Tiburon and I was wondering if it would be difficult to do this myself. Or I can buy the lights and get them put on professionally for $200. Would that be a good deal???

 

I know that at JC Whitney you can buy the whole under the car neon kit for $159.99 and a song interface unit for $59.99 more. The installation is very easy. It comes with everything you need and instructions. All you really need is a lift and some stands. Correct me if any one sees something I missed.

 

Is there any way to make sure that they will completely be under the car, to where there is little to no bulb showing?

 

Just a side note, they will prolly be illegal and you will get tickets. Not 100% sure but you usually can only use them when you are parked. Check with Tunez on some of this stuff. His specialty.

 

I have lights underneath my tib, and Yes.....they are terribly illegal. Cops hate it. But, then again....I get pulled over for everything....I once got pulled over rollerblading...a got a ticket.

 

Yeah the law in IL is that you can have them on while parked but not moving, which is why I'd like to get mine hooked up to where they turn on when my doors open, and have a toggle switch also for various occasions

Julez do u know aprox how dark i could get tint on my windows and not have a big problem with the Police in IL. Just seeing if u knew anything on that. Thanks.

Well, the cops here dont really get on people about having the underlights. There are always people driving around with them on and cops would pull up next to them and not say anything about it. I have one in the back window hanging on the ceiling of the car and they havent said anything to me about that one and I have been pulled over a lot.

 

I'm not sure on the tint, but I know that clear corners are illegal as well if you put different colored or clear bulbs in those corners, which I've done and have tested to see if a cop would notice or not, I drove right infront of one and followed one, didn't even notice.

I know that you can't have the front window tinted at all, the sides and rear can be to a certain %.

I wish I would have waited Yam, but I actually ordered my neons like 2 months ago, I've still yet to recieve them though, they've been on back order forever, I guess Neo-Blue from street glow is hard to keep in stock right now. But how well can you hide the underbody neons?
