OK, I know we now have a couple of options available to us, but I came across these and they sound REALLY tempting. With other kits it is kind of annoying how they stick out to the side. This kit makes it look like the doors were meant to be vertical. Just figured I'd get some opinions, experience, or even guinea pigs for this kit. It is supposedly universal. Here are a couple pics.

although my opinion is crap, how could these be "universal."

Jaws or Blacktibs could back this up, but every door is different from manufacturer to manufacturer. the hinges have to be set up to clear everything from the fender to the interior paneling.

i'm sure they can't be univeral... but what do i know?

They do make universal ones... however, they do need to be modified to work properly, and each car has a unique door in its own way. The Tib's doors seem rather heavy as well, which means having a high-quality kit is paramount.

I would not buy a universal vertical door kit.

Thats another thing this kit claims.... two cylinders per side to lift the doors. 300lb lift capacity. They also have four adjustment points which is how they can claim they are universal. Sounds interesting. If it is a near vertical lift I doubt we could have the Widebody fenders with this kit. Which sucks considering those are about to be the ONLY aftermarket fenders available to us. I want to have both custom fenders and a vertical door kit. They also have a wholesale purchace option, so if there is enough interest here I will contact them about a group buy. If there isn't enough interest I may just go for them myself, because I think a true vertical kit looks more stock than the ones I've seen that are currently available to us. Looks like it would be easier to get in and out of your car with these. Here's a side shot of that Mustang. Lots of other pics on that site too.

I think that looks A LOT better than the vertical door kits on Tibs I've seen. On the ones everyone has right now, I don't like the way it goes at an angle.
