ok, so i just found that in michgan they have some wierd law where you can tint the back window and the two back side windows anything you want, but you can only tint the front side windows four inches from the top. Same thing for the windshield. i just wondered what would look good with that restriction

should i tint the side and back nice and dark, (i have a cobalt blue car by the way) and then get the same tint four inches from the front sides to the windshield all the way aorund? I was just curious what would look good with that restriction, thanks for any ideas you have

I would just tint the back and the sides dark. That looks good in itself. You could probably get a nice visor stretching down your windshield too.

i live in michigan as well...i have my back window and triangles at 5%, my front windows at 20% and my windshield at 50% with a 5% strip at the top. i drive thru fraser, shelby, warren, and sterling heights on a daily basis (they have the toughest cops) and i havent been hassled once...as long as you leave your window cracked a couple inches, you have nothing to worry about. and the windshield is so subtle you can hardly notice.

yeah, i live down here in kalamazoo and i havent heard of anyone getting pulled over for it here, just the horror stories about people having to rip it off is what made me want to try and be lawful. i see so many cars with front side tint and i couldnt understadn the point of having four inches. one of the main reasons i want to tint is because of the heat and four inches isnt gonna do it

you have your windshield tinted?

I'd say just do it, if you get pulled over you'll most likely get a warning/fix it, if so then abide the law from there on.

I've never liked the look of super dark limo tint (5%) on the quarter windows and then 35% on the main side windows then a completely black stripe horizontaly along the top of your windshield and 35% in the back. Just doesn't "flow" ...makes it look like you're just trying to get the most tint allowed by law, nah nah...here's what ya do:

do even tint all around the car. Max it out if ya want, it's 35% in most states and most states do NOT allow front windshield to be tinted (expect top and bottom 4 inches or 6"..check your state law). Keep it clean and even all around.

Luckily (since Arizona is so DAMN hot) they allow ALL AROUND tint, including front windshield. Haha, suckas...my tib is about to look straight with 33% all around. nana.gif

NM has the best tint law around.

20% all around.

in ohio its the same, back and sides can be as dark as you want but the windows on the doors have to be 50% so i got 20% on all 5 lol i think it kinda looks tacky with 2 shades of tint.

Well, ......... ..............n/m then. But Arizona is still pimpin'
Where's YOU'RE Grand Canyon, hmmm. unhh, wut now? nana.gif

j/k

But seriously, do you know anyone with 20% all around. Does it make visibility through the side windows and front windshield bad at night? I'd like to get all around but I use my quarter windows for lane changes more than I do my mirrors and want to be able to see out of them.

And, Is 20% that NOTICEABLY different than 33% I mean, is a cop going to be able to pick out a 20% tint job in 33% state?
