Hey guys!

I was thinking about getting this hood.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=120161243887

I know it has some damage but I was thinking if it was repairable it would be fine. If I couldn't get it right I wouldn't mind having to bondo and paint it either.

I asked the guy how bad it was and if it is just the clear coat or is the carbon fiber actually cracked and I am waiting for a response because his pick of the damage wasn't very good.

Am I wasting my time with it, is it worth it?

seems fairly cheap. If you aren't looking for show quality and you trust the fitment to be exact, go for it.

I don't think you'll be able to repair it. If you do, the time you spend on it, I'd pay a little more and get the real thing from elsewhere. Blacktibs just posted a new FlyRyde hood for our cars that looks better.

yes it does.

one of the things you should always be careful to notice. The sellers don't know crap about our cars. Do you trust them?

Dude, I would seriously hop all over that. That scratch is nothing that some good wax won't cover up at least 80%. It looks good dude. I would get it, who cares about a single little scratch? Buff it up, reclearcoat it, whatever... It's still cheaper then $400 before shipping for a new one.

Fitment is the only question. I've seen that style before. I havn't heard any complaints. Is it origonal or a knockoff of the hood?

^^^ He says its a real VIS hood.

Not really into the show quality of it I mostly want it for the weight reduction and the vent in it but I don't want a big crack in it either.

I saw those hoods from flyrides it is nicer yes and not a bad price but I need a hood now and my budget doesn't include a 550.00 hood.

Yeah I saw that 2000-2002. No I DON'T trust ebay sellers no matter what it is. But I think this guy might just no know that much about a Tib because its probably no something he sells alot of.

I got a price on a replacement hood and it was about 225.00 then to paint it would be about another 150-200.00 So I am close to a CF hood now.

I just got a price from TRT Autotech in NY For 550.00 shipped for a VIS CF Guaranteed fit and finish or money back or replacement. he also has cheaper hoods but they are as is no returns.

BTW check them out I think he told me he has the turbo and super charger kits for the tib as well.
