Default Spoiler Brake Light

Does anyone know how to replace bulbs in the spoiler brake light? I have one of the bulbs out in the middle, near the left side of the spoiler. I saw that there are some screws on the bottom there, is that all I need to take out? Also, what kind of bulbs go in there? Is it something that a mechanical dummy like me can fix?

They are LED's. They are not individually replaceable. You replace them as a unit (the whole red part).

You'll just have to deal with 1 light being burnt out if you are out of warranty....

The same thing happened to me and since I have OVER 12,000 miles on my Tib, the dealer is being an assclown and won't fix it! Oh well..I wanted to put in a blue strip anyway. Anyone know where I can get a different color LED strip that will fit in there? Thanx. smile.gif tongue.gif wink.gif

Is 12,000 miles the limit in the warranty for that part? If so then mine is out. What is the cost of one of them? And is there a clear color led? That would be kinda cool.

There are clear LED's that light up red. I think that is what he means.

I have a white car..and I too sometimes dream of a custom clear LED third brake light.

The part costs something like $100 from the dealer. Sam can probably cut than by 50% if not more. To make the clear part would be a bitch...but on a white car...it would look awesome!

I was looking under the spoiler and noticed how easy it would be to change that light today too. Clear with red LED lights would look nice. I wish they would blink "one-at-a-time" or I guess you could say like Christmas lights, you know what I'm saying?

you can use the internals from a scanner and wire them into your LED so when you brake, it scans back and forth, KnighTRideR stylie
