I don't think that they are home made because I have seen them on another tib - I wonder if they are still available?

I doubt that they are covers because you can actually see the bulbs inside the lights. You can't even see them on the stock units

Hmmm..they could be painted with lense tint, like something like VHT Night Shades.

they're definitely not covers of some sort and i doubt whether its a tint spray..

if it is a tint spray, its just one coat and there has been someone custom work done inside the unit as the bulbs are totally different than standard....

to me it looks like its actually smoked glass (plastic).

Even if they are home made - how did they get rid of the red plastic?

they sure look like the GTS tail light covers I have seen for the tibby.

www.driverfx.com had them last time I checked.

Stock light definately can't see the bulbs, so there would be even less chance if GTS covers were on.

one of two things happened.

1. they took apart the stock lights and just left the outer piece off and sealed the gts cover on there.

2. they took apart the stock lights and left the outer piece off and just made a new outer piece and sprayed the tint on them.

well that kinda makes sense..

well tell me this, do the GTS covers still allow your brake lights to shine through or is that a risky business? cos those lights don't look smoked out too much.
