Default Shoe Polish

What is the easiest way to remove shoe polish or whatever they use on the drag strips to write your number on the windshield and side windows?

usually when it dies off, you can take a dry paper towel and remove it. Then take some window cleaner or a damp cloth and remove the resude.

I work in auto-detailing and we simply spray some glass cleaner and use a razorblade.
