Dantra...okay...I can help you with this. I have ALOT of experience doing crazy insane mods like this. I'm the one that's shaving my handles, turn signals, suiciding my passenger door, and hood, installing a targa top, and doing the Chameleon paint job.

Shaving Handles
Basically this is a very old mod that alot of hot rodders usually do. It consists of taking the external handle off of the body, tap welding a plate in it's place, sand, bondo, prime, paint, and then connecting an electric solenoid that acts as a "popper" to pull the door hinge, hence opening the door so you can get in. There are different ways to "pop" your door open. Most people use a seperate remote or they connect the popper to their vehicle alarm remote. The other way is to connect your solenoid to an external button or item on your car. Some people place a button under the fender well to pop open the doors, or they use an emblem on their vehicle. Just depends on how custom you want to get with it.

As far as shaving your turn signals, it's basically the same way as doing your handles. You have to make some kind of a template that will fit over your stock turn signal location. Usually people will form something out of sheet metal and tap weld it in place. Then sand, fiberglass/bondo, and paint.

Some people shave emblems off to make everything real smooth. This is super easy. You just take the emblems off, sand down the area where the holes are, and then fiberglass/bondo over, and then paint.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, what so ever, don't hesitate to ask. Just make sure you give me lots of good stars! Just kidding...I could care less. rolleyes.gif But if you want to see how shaved handles look, you can either wait until I finishe mine, or go over to FxTreme and talk to a member named "Redzzand." He's a really cool guy, and when he was getting it done, I gave him alot of usefull information. His handles are not actually shaved off yet, but his solenoid poppers are installed. Good luck, and remember to have fun! wink.gif L8TR......

I have a '94 Lantra..,I've shaved my back doors and Low-Show is pretty acurate. I put in Autoloc solenoids and poppers, they work great. There's alot of packages you can pick up. Just check out the site and application is easy. Don't know if I wanna do the front doors but we'll see. I've also shaved all my emblems. The 94 emblems were just stickers so those were a sinch and I just dremeled out my front grill and emblem.

Tibmanx...Yeah, the front turn signals are going to be completely gone. It's just gonna look like the fenders carry over into the front of the car, basically. It's going to be a very clean look and it's one of those things were if you either look fast, you'll miss it, or you have to be familiar with Tibs to know I got rid of them. Doing alot of small tricks like that and shaving stuff (handles, keyholes, emblems, etc..) are what get you alot of special attention and extra points at the shows.

Lo&Show,
Are there any website that have shave kits for Tibs/Elantras? Sounds like something I might consider doing...

You're best bet is Autoloc. I've dealt with them for years (used to work for a hot rod shop and an actual hack shack).Autloc WebsiteThey have real quality products. Most likeyl they will ask you what size solenoid popper you want. For a Tib or Elantra, you can use either a 25 or 30 pound pull. I wouldn't go with anything less than 15 pound or else your door may not open at all. Good luck!
