Default shaved door handles for $600. Good price?

A friend of mine just started working for a custom auto body and restoration place. They do alot of muscle car and classic restorations and custom body work for show cars. he said he could shave my door handles, install a popper kit, and paint everything to match the car for $600. Is that a good price or not worth it? Im really thinking about it. 1 question though. If my battery in the remote or in the car dies how I do I open the doors?
