Well, I had my antenna snapped off recently, and the radio hasn't been the same.

I don't like stock antennas. The short ones are OKAY. I'd like to shave the ant off and go incar but I'm not sure what options I have going that route.

Also don't tell me to buy an sat radio either tongue.gif

Also blacktibs also had the FIN antenna he showed us once? Anyone have one, or does he carry them?

Ok. He does. I found a link Shark fin antenna .

I would probably go with something like that. If so, would I drill through the top of the roof to mount it? Is there a DIY on this Blacktibs?

Also, if you guys have a suggestion please list the name of the antenna, where to purchase, a link would help and the price. Thanks.

I dont know how to mount the actual antenna part but with mine it was just stick on. I made sure to put it as far back on the roof and as close to the hatch as possible so that it clears the sunroof. The antenna wires already run to the back of the car so I'd imagine you'd have enough wiring already.

It is, but I don't want to cheap out because I'll probably have it for a long time.

Not bad, I'd have to look into that but there is no specs on there so I'm a bit worried about reseption.

I remember once I read about an antenna signal booster. I wonder if that actually works.

I was right. It's an amplifier.

signal booster doesnt really work..

its made by autoloc. they are reputable co..

my girl has an antenna smaller than that one and its on her window. looks like one of those small credit cards stuck on her window and her reception is just fine.

whats an amplifier?

i just placed a bid for one myself..

if you wait a couple of weeks i'll have it and installed and i'll let you know.

I'm thinking it amplifies the signal to increase range.
