Rust?
If you're talking about the seal-strip above the headlights that has a bunch of plastic screws in it, then yeah, my 2001 had rust there. But it was only on that strip, and it basically rusted through it so when I took it off, it started to crumble. I took it to the dealer, and they replaced it under warranty no questions asked. There was no actual rust on the frame from it (luckily). other than that, I haven't spotted any rust.

Yeah what he said smile.gif
A good dealer should replace it under warranty if, not, I think it's like $30 or so.

hyundai generally has their act together when it comes to rust.. most new cars barely rust anymore. I am old enough to remember a 76 chevy truck my parents bought.. within a year it was rusting away... so ALL the manufactorers have taken great strides in rust prevention.

Vehicle: 2000 Hyundai Tiburon
I had the same problem on my `00 Tib. All I did was take it off sand/gring down the rusted areas prime with a rust proofing primer and re-paint the metal. Good as new!
Been like his for almost 2 years and nothing has come back. Mind you I don't drive it in the winter.

Having the rust on that part of the car actually came to my advantage. I used it as an advantage point when I bought the car to have them lower the price. I was able to get the dealer down from 11,500 to 9,500 by just making big deals about the little stuff on the car. The 01 tib was basically in very good condition with only 19k miles when I bought it.
I have loved my tib ever since
