I bought two different "universal" kits. Neither of them have the part I need. I bought the car without one so I made the others work by wrapping the threads with foil but it comes loose after a few miles.

Where do you buy a REAL replacement?

If it's the same as a 98 elantra (I never looked at a tib's antenna) then I've got an OEM one for you.

But did you mean stock replacement or "cooler"?

(pics still needed?) if its at all damaged its gonna be $15 to ur door

ok i checked and its scratched down to bare steel, all the way through the powder coat, but only on the base
ill get pics if ur still interested, its in good shape other then the scratched base.

I'll have to get over there when I get a chance. I'm just wondering... It'd me way more likely to find an Elantra or other Hyundai than an early Tib. Just wondering how many models came with the same thread size antenna.

Well today I hadda put a bigger back on (had my uber shorty with stock Head unit), My new head unit didnt like the shorty antena. Anyway, since I cut the threads off my old oem antenna to make my universal, I tried my dads old antenna of his jeep.

the threads werent the exact same but it screwed in tight and flush, SOOOO if you want more options try a late model jeep? LOL

Just thought id let you know.
