Well, i started thinkin one day about doin a front end conversion to my RD2 cuz i didnt like the whole "puppy eyes" kinda look. I like aggresive front ends. Front ends that are like "get the hell out of my way". So i was like, doin the conversion is gonna be hard becuase of the humps and stuff with the hood and the bumpers, so i was like maybe i can make some eyelids some how. i got to messin with the headlights first and was able to come up with a sunk eye effect with them. then i started messin with some white tape on the front to see what it would look like if i did do the eyelids. I liked the look so i started throwin some bondo on it and started doin alot of shavin and more bondo and sandin and etc., etc. I finnaly got done with it and this is what i turned up with.

so your sayin the eyelids are completely bondo? no fg? omfg i hope you dont get a slight fender bender from someone accidentely backing into you. cuz thatll just break off if its just bondo. i like the look i really do i hope its got fg tho

Its actually alot of bondo, not just a small sheet of it, the whole inside of it from the bottom of the lid all the way back to the very back inside is all filled with bondo so its pretty sturdy.

Ya but its still a bunch of bondo. That wont last very long, especially if you hit anything. Bondo is heavy in large amounts like that. you are supposed to keep it to 1/8 inch thickness for it to be a strong bond.

I really like the eyelids, I've been wondering how to do something like that on our round headlights, and that looks great!! I don't care for the sunken headlight look though...
I might have to give it a try some day.

I really like the look of it, although I must say that the quality of the workmanship looks a little rough on the 3rd pic. Could do with a bit more finishing maybe?

umm.. yeah.. i like the concept and was thinking about doing that when i modify my bumper but i will be spending more time on getting it to look right..
looks pretty good but i would start over, and use fiberglass, and not bondo, and make the eyelines flush, and blend it alot more..
whats up with the 3 different colors and the weird out of place headlights?
