i know they make circle convex lights, but they wont be the right shape or size. they will not have a clear lens. they will not have the projector beam. wont be adjustable. huge waste of time. very dumb idea.

and this guy is acting like his big badass mechanic must know the best way because hes the 'god' of mechinax, its jsut pure ignorance thats all.

^^ You can't even spell mechanics! LOL...

Capn Tibs: are your headlights just too far inwards?

i think he meant to type it like that, but you may be just razzing him knowing this so i may be just wasting my internet-breath.

Oh and the statement about the mechanic knowing more than anybody on here, way to insult the people your trying to "coax" help from, most of the time i (and most members here) go out of my (our) way to help people i (we) dont even know, dont think thats gonna happen here...

good luck fing02.gif

easy fellas, i was lookin for help but maybe the mechanic thing came out concieted soundin, i just meant it with confidence tho. The guy works on 5 and 6 line assembly machines by day for a living and plays with motorcycles and cars by night for a hobby. He's been doing it his entire life and is probably older then most of you...but I didn't say there isn't a better mechanic on the site so loosen your bunched up pannies if you let them get tweaked a little by my razzin statement. The guy really knows his shit anyways is all I meant and if I could get him to work on my car I would but he's from my hometown in VA and I live in FL now. If any insult or offense was taken then it's my part to apologize guys so I do.

As far as my question about the composite lights thanks for all your advice and comments.

SOCKS- I've seen your work, your good and it's known, a lot of you guys are good on here. That's why I'm here, to learn from people who know what their doing and maybe get the chance to contribute back later once I figure out what I'm doing and gain the knowledge.

DrivingTibNaked- The lights are too far outward, need to be moved inward and problems solved. Got the gaskets but there's still a gap.

And can't you guys read a little more before giving me so much shit...I even said I was not going with the composite lights cause I don't like them.

alright, now that we have that all straightened out, can you do me a huge favor.. i wanna see your issue fixed within the next week.

take some close up pictures so i can see your EXACT problems.

you say the lights are too far out, but yet there is a gap? if they were too far out, wouldnt they be hitting the surrounds on the bumper, making it impossible to push it on all the way?

i would think if there was a gap between headlights and bumper that the headlights need to come more to the front of the car than be pushed back..

this is where the easy solution of using a spacer washer comes into play.. if its 1/2" away from the headlight surround on bumper, get a bunch of 1/16" washers and longer bolts for mounting the headlights, and adjust the spacing for each bolt until it fits properly. that would probably be the easiest solution in my eyes.

or if you are good with fiberglass, put painters tape over headlights, mount bumper, start adding some depth with fiberglass cloth until it about touches the painters tape.. let everything dry, sand, add a little filler, and voila.

glad alls settled socks, as far as the depth problem goes I had that all figured pretty much but the lights need to go towards the center of the car more. This is gonna take some drilling into metal for new holes unless I made some sort of bracket. At first I was just a little curious how many people actually had to modify their bumper to fit to their lights. I'd love to have this bumper fixed this week but that may not be likely. I don't have time to work on my car on weekdays cause I gotta demanding work schedule so my weekends are when I get my car work done and try to have a life too. Before I can even play with the bumper I have a whole bunch of electrical problems to fix, belts to replace, and then I can play with the lights. Once I do get the lights moved and the bumper on I will of course take some pics and I'll take some close ups of the problem too so you guys can see everything.

ahh, i understand now.. yeah, no one else would have had a problem like that. it was probably because it was mocked up to rd1 core support.. the biggest LIGHT issue everyone has with aftermarket 'knockoff' bumpers is a DEPTH gap from back of headlight surround (on bumper) to the front surface of the headlights..

ill take a pic of my little gap later to show you wut i mean.

Yeah, after looking at my extra headlamp assy, I think it would be easier to either elongate the holes on the headlamp assy, or move the bolt holes over a bit. Either way, once you get it apart, it will be about 15 minutes with a dremmel, then put them back together. There is room on the headlamp assembly to move the hole up to around 3/8" of an inch. If you need any more room then that, you would be better off dremmeling the mount
