Default Quick Release Bumpers

When people use these quick releases, do they not bolt the rest of the bumper on? Seems like quick releases wouldnt be safe on a daily driver, since its the only thing that holds the bumper on.

I would suggest only using it to replace the fender bolts. Those are the hardest to get to, especially on a lowered vehicle, so the quick release could easily save 5+ minutes. Having two or three bolts by the grill or hood latch would be sufficient with the quick release on the fenders.

On my genesis, there are literally two screws (one in each fender) and a butt load of push screws holding the bumper on. That's all. No need for a ton of bolts, just two screws and an abundance of push screws (you know, those things you can just pop out).

Fast forward 15 years and let's see how the push screws are doing.

i had those quick release's on my tiburon and they worked great. without pushing in a 'button' it wouldn't release the bumper and they were very tight.

as long as the rivets holding the quick release clips on are good, you should never have to worry.

the clips you see in that pic were the only thing holding my bumper on, one on each side.

^initial reaction: DAM that looks TIGHT . . . 1/2 second later: . . . if it were properly fitted and finished. That's a body with potential.
