Purpose for yellow HID foglights?
Why would you want yellow HID foglights, instead of pure white foglights? Does the yellow cut through fog and bad weather better or do people do it for looks only?

It's actually a rather deep question, but it sounds simple. Google is your friend.

Just offering some input:
White is used for visibility because it reflects the best off of black pavement. Anything else on the color spectrum is absorbed into the black (i.e., doesn't bounce off as well). White light probably bounces off of fog also, so colored fog lights probably help see in foggy conditions.
We don't get enough fog here for it to be useful for me.

the way i understand this is
YELLOW- scatters the least when it hit fog, which means you can see better, but it is also the worst for non foggy conditions
BLUE- is the brightest but causes strain on your eyes over time
RED- has the least strain on your eyes.
thats all i know about it. not really any trouble with fog in rural georgia, just wildlife.
