Question Pillar covers - how to remove adhesive

Several years ago I applied aftermarket (black plastic) B pillar covers to my 2010 Genesis sedan. The adhesive is now wearing out and wind is causing the covers to become unstuck. I have replacement covers to apply, but how do I clean the adhesive residue off the pillars? It is very sticky and I don't want to use a cleaner that could damage the pillar surface.

Default Solution found

I found 3M makes an adhesive remover. It's sticky work, but with enough spraying, scraping and wiping it's possible to remove the adhesive and clean the surfaces.
