ok, people. you guys with body kits. How much did you have to pay to get your kit modified? I know most fiberglass kits will not fit perfectly so need to be reworked and re-adjusted.
How many people went through this process?
How much did it cost?
and how long did it take?

I recently purchased a body kit that doesn't fit, so I need it to be modified by a professional fiberglass shop.
Your input would be appreciated

 

Which body kit? If you want to bring you car up to Palmdale, the guy who did my kit would be more than ready to work on your car. happy.gif He'll give you a good price too...

How much modification is needed? Depending on how much alteration needs to happen affects price.

 

mine pretty much fit, they only had to modify the passenger side skirt and the front end but it fits perfectly. they charged me 750 (i think, it may have been 700..i forget rolleyes.gif ) for paint and install and it was a full kit
the place that i went to also did work for some cover cars on superstreet, so you know that they do a good job, but they are all the way in MD so you wouldn't be using them, but it's an example of how much to pay for an excellent job

I was able to do mine myself, Just had to drill a couple of holes. and the rest fit perfectly

in regards to the questions...
1.Spiffywerks
the body kit is the GTR kit.
2. modifications needed... hmmmm... the head lights don't match up to well. the top headlight section may be bent to far down at a sharper angle. the sides of the front bumper is angled outward.

Question to Spiffywerks... how much did you pay for your body work?

because I went to Sharkracing at Oceanside California to pick it up. I don't know if the kit was made from sharkracing, but i bougth it from them.

Also, I found this aftermarket shop that said they could do the modifications and paint for about $400 in a couple of days. They seem to know how to cut and paste fiberglass kits. You should have seen the cars they had in front of the shop! MR2, Supra, 300ZX, all modified with spoilers, paint jobs, and wide body kits. If the guy that did their cars is going to do mine, I'm not to worried.
