Default Peeling Clear Repair

For an aged, peeling clearcoat, has anyone had any luck with wet sanding the peeling clear, and then spraying new clear on the old basecoat? Thanks

Good idea, perhaps it would. I was just planning on applying a few coats of wax over the existing rubbish paint, but your idea sounds better. It would be a lot of work though.

would you not be able to see where the old clearcoat is compared to the new? I think it would end up looking like crap (like those people that put duct tape over rust on chrome bumpers! LOL!) I don't think anything short of a re-paint is going to make it look decent again.

I think sanding and respraying clean would better than the peeling clean. But if our going to put the work into it might as well respray the car wit color and clear.
