(1)What temp should you set the oven at?
(2)Bake?
(3)will it leave a nasty aroma?
(4)When you re-seal them, do you use a silicone sealant? Also, do you coat the 2 halves then put in the oven?
.

1. I always set it at warm at first, then gradually go up. Just so they get almost too warm to touch.
2. Yes on bake, usually about 10 minutes or so, but monitor them closely.
3. Not that I have noticed, you are just warming up the sealant.
4. I have never used anything extra to seal it with. When you seperate them the sealant should not come off altogether. After you put it back together stick it in the oven again to warm the sealant back up. Then mash the halves together for about two minutes. Should be good.

For every light I've done so far, 350 degrees preheated, for 4 to 5 minutes for the first try. If you can't get it apart within that time, try another 3 minutes.

just a little post resurrection. I just took mine apart and painted them (no, you can't see them until after the meet tomorrow in Philly) I used the oven at 200 degrees for about ten minutes..

Careful with the corners though, I snapped one of the lenses in half with no warning... was almost free of the housing and it broke.. so I need a passenger side clear corner if anybody has one for sale.

It's funny to see how people with shinny stock headlights are trying to change them to the body color or darker color and then people with dark headlights (XD owners) wanna get shinny ones smile.gif
