Default Painted Calipers-Success

Here is a pic of my red calipers. I spray painted them with a "chevy engine red" engine paint. However, they came out too orange and will have to do them over in the spring in a darker color.

Also...note my new sig picture showing off the SR sticker. It REALLY shows off in the light, doesn't it? My washer-lights are also visible.

I left them on actually. I wrapped the disk and the panel in garbage bags and inserted foam in the holes in the calipers. I held the bag in place with masking tape. I scubbed the caliper with varsol and dusted it with several coats of engine paint. The whole process took about four hours from removal of the 1st wheel to bolt on of the last. There was no spray on the disc surface but the outer rim got a little marked. Some Tenax wiped it off insintantly. The only thing is that I didn't remove the pads so the outsides of them are also red. I sprayed all four calipers several months ago and not a single crack in the paint has emerged.

GUILTY - what day and when? I may tag-team that project with you, if it's cool with you and if I can fit it into my schedule.

Just don't make the same mistake I did. Pick the right color. I though a bight red would stand out...now it looks orange in the light.
