Anyone have the same problem? Thinking about going to target and buying a can of krylon black paint to spray them. it cant look any worst than they do now with flaked off paint, right?

Do i have to sand the wiper arms down or can i just degrease them and spray the paint on with a little bit of clear after the black dries?

last year i finally resprayed mine... the paint flaked up really bad. i had to break off and scrape and sand the paint that was left, and then i sprayed it with metal primer, wet sanded that smooth where the old paint underneath met the metal and created a groove. then primed again, wet sanded one last time, then sprayed with a nice gloss black, 2 coats, then 2 thin coats of clear. still looks good after a year !

^^

I had the same problem when I first tried painting them with just a can of rustoleum and ended up having to re-sand them down again because the paint bubbled. I used primer before spraying the rustoleum on the 2nd round and they came out great.

They look so much nicer with a fresh coat of pain now.

props, much better job than what i did on my dd. i just sanded it down with the dremel then threw on a couple of vague coats of pot belly black. they are holding up fine, but its obviously not a glossy finish is all.
