Well I decided to do some work to the OEM bumper.

I got rid of the mounting tabs for the fog lights, removed the H in the upper opening, filled the plate mounting holes, and took about an inch off of the depth of the center opening on the bottom.

This is my first attempt at any body mods I think it came out well. After some cutting filling and alot of sanding heres what I ended up with.

Ok so you guys all know what a stock rd2 bumper looks like so no pics of that.

The work:

The finished product:

The rest of the pics:

The only thing left is to epoxy some tabs on for the mesh, primer, sand, and paint.

Let me know what you think. Opinions, Suggestions, Questions.

If anyone would like a diy let me know I can make one.

wow that looks great!

i was gonna take out the little front air dams on saturday to put mesh in, but realized i would have to cut like you did cuz it would look like sh*t to just put mesh in there

love the look of the shaved h on the front, that looks awesome!

Not to steal your thread, but has anyone opened up the front grill on an oem RD1 bumper to get more air to a fmic? If so, could I see some pics and how you did it? Thanks! BTW your mods look amazing!

^ No problem I'll try to get it done in the next couple days.

I was already thinking about it. The "tiburon" on the back will be gone, but I might leave the H and just paint it black or remove it completely.

I was afraid to cut into my bumper since it was my first time doing something like this. It took me a week until I got up the courage to cut it lmao.

Thanks for the compliments! It turned out better than I thought it would. I wasn't sure if it would be worth all the work for a OEM bumper but now that its done I am pretty happy with it.

for the back, i would do like you said, and just paint it black.. itll blend in that way, and its too much of a pain to fill it in and such.. if you were to fill it in, i would have it welded and ground smooth. you wouldnt want that chunk of bondo or FG to end up cracking or something..

i say just color match, or paint it black.

and again, turned out better than i thought.. glad ya decided to do it.. i kinda pushed ya a bit also lol
