I'm looking for a can of nite shades or something similar so I can tint my tail lights. I've looked everywhere (including RDT) and can't find a decent link to anything. eBay sells some ghey looking imitations, but I'm not sure that would be quite as good.
Any ideas as to where I can get some of this? (Kspec is a little pricey for the complete lens...)

Also, what are the laws like on tinting them? I saw a number of threads here where guys from Australia and England get in big trouble because of it, and I really don't want to. How dark can I go with it?

Well, if you find out where to get some nite shade let me know to please!

As far as the law goes just email your local law office and they will let you know if its legeal or illegeal. I'm not sure about Alabama but Nevada you allowed to tint your fronts and tails as long as your lights are not diminished in anyway.(visibility is still good)

as long as you dont lay down too many layers, you wont get messed with, 1-2 light layers darkens the lense up, but not enough to tell that its not stock, plus i allways tape off the reverse lights so they dont get painted so it looks even more stock.

if you end up not being able to find it, my local hot rod shop sells it, i can get the price, and figure out shipping, and just paypal me, and ill go get a few cans for you guys.

As long as your tail/signal lights are still visible when activate, the cops will not hassle you... bottom line, it's a safety thing! You want people to see your lights; that you are there and what direction would you be turning, etc...

Local speed shops should carry them... i know they do here, if not try online stores like summit racing, etc

You can get night shades spray at any car part shop down here. I put 6 layers on mine then polished them with car polish (so that prolly removed a layer). I haven't had any trouble with cops as yet, but I know people that have. It's not a defectable issue down here (not in my state anyway) so all you have to do if you get a ticket is polish it back off.

I got a warning for mine the first time I did them; they were as dark as Col's & the cop told me to sort them out right away or I'd get defected. Tinting the tails or headlights (at all) is illegal here... in Sydney anyway sad.gif

I re-did them more recently but it's barely noticeable. I'll darken them a bit more I think... once this shitty weather clears a little.
