Default New gas tank cover from SR

The information provided says that the gas tank cover is held on with double sided tape.I am suprised that tape is the only thing needed to hold it.......I'm curious, because I'm debating on getting one...... Any feedback would be appreciated......

I think it just sticks onto the paint on the outside of the original door cover.
Im thinking on getting one myself. I'd like to find out if the cover wraps over the sides of the door panel so that it wont be obvious from the outside that it was just stuck on.

That's the same thing I'm wondering... The gas station attendants around my way love to close the **** out of my tank door, I don't know if tape would hold it.... I hope that it wouldn't be noticable that it just covers the original one. I don't think that anyone else makes them.

It is not thick enough to replace the stock door, and it does not have the locking latch to replace the door.

it is a stick on only.
