I'm considering replacing my 'Tiburon' lettering on the rear bumper with the 'Turbulence' lettering from KSpec. Has anyone else done this? I'm just wondering how difficult it will be to remove the letters. What's the best way to go about it without ruining them or scratching the hell out of the bumper paint. I'd like to keep the old lettering in good shape if possible, in case I want it again in the future.

I'm not big on body work, so I don't know the first thing about removing bumper stickers let alone anything else. tongue.gif

you can easily peel them off with a hairdryer and your fingernails. then take some adhesive remover to it.

I just took off the Tiburon emblen, I didnt get a "Turbulence" emblem.

Anyway I just took a heat gun to the Tiburon emblem then I peeled it off very carefully with a scraper kind of a screwdriver.

But I couldn't save the emblem it came off in like 20 pieces.

Hm. I guess it'll be alright if it doesn't come off intact. The emblems aren't too expensive to replace.

Thanks for the replies, i'll give it a shot tomorrow.

careful if you use a heat gun. hold it in one place too long and the paint can start to wrinkle up.

I think you could use a strong cotton string instead of crew driver. This way you will not scratch the paint.

Razer Blades work pretty good too.

i used my fingernail, which i trust a bunch more than screwdrivers and razorblades. its not that hard to take off guys. the dealer tag i had on was tons harder.

Got it off, easy.

I used a flathead screwdriver first, thinking something to lightly scrape would be easiest, but the first scrape cut a tiny little scratch in the paint. 02.gif
Fingernails definately work the best. Thankfully the scratch is tiny and will be covered up when I put the new emblem on.

I put the turbulence letter on my car when I got it. Fortunately, whoever had the car before me had already taken the Tiburon letters off, so all I had to do was put the new one on.
