i might try something along the lines of what blacktibs did to his rd1 tails. havent really decided yet. i actually kinda melted one of the tailights a bit on the back, but its easily fixible, i dont even think it will matter. not bad for my first time sticking a car part in the oven. anywho, what do you guys think i should do with them?

I'd say warm them back up so they are moldable, smush them up, and insert them in uranus.

Heh.

you mean did all that and you're not sure what you're gonna do with it? alls i gotsa to say about that is... meh (M-E-H, meh!)

i mean if you've got access to plastic and you can mold something then let your imagination and creative go crazy, but if not, i guess about the only thing you could do is like scrape off the red on that lens.

hmm.. See if you can mount some 'halos' inside there..

say even a 75mm. Run the wiring to the daytimes.. (maybe the turn signals..) so, when you start her up.. the tail lights will have a lil glow come from them.

#1.) somehow bend the mounting point for the brake lights so they will sit pointing straight out the back
#2.) Purchase clear tail light covers from kspec..
#3.) put some 30 led lamps in there...........has to be done while they are open.......I think i have a pair of red ones from SBleds I'd be willing to donate.....
or drill tons of holes so it looks like swiss cheese then get a hold of some #194 connectors and make the tail/brake portion all LED. like infinity...

and i like nexuz idea about haolz too, the new range rovers use haloz for the rear turns..........

Mabye rip out the reflector part, get some FG, paint it black, then drill holes for LEDS and somehow cut a hole or a access panel or some thing so you can replace them if any of them every get messed up................

Ideas, ideas............

i just thought of something.

i will almost definatley get the kspec lenses. what if i smoked them out, put led clusters for the normal brake lights and reverse lights(or xenon bulbs for these) and then mounted tons of blue leds everywhere inside, so that i have a nice blue glow radiating from my taillamps whenever i park somewhere at night.

oooooooo....this will be fun.

Default Bad News - Email DISASTER!

definately will look good like that tibby........let me know if you need those 30 leds units......i'll dbl check later this afternoon or tonight whether they are amber or red, i know i have amber ones, but only 90% certain about the red ones. but you have to rig some way to hold them in place while you are sealing them up and mounting the tails back on your car

if you could bend the mounting point so they went straight back they'd be awesome tho. all id want for them is shipping....you pay that and their free.

You could do what I want to do.... (as soon as I get my new tails) is to load them up with LEDS.. and then send the lenses out to a glass shop that deals in plexi and lexan, I am going to have all the refractors in the lenses ground smooth to make the tails look more like that of the newer cars out there.. CLEAR red

i could do that with my dremel, some sandpaper, and some polishing compound, i wanted something more drastic though, and i always like the smoked out tailights on a black car look.

and tibwrc, definatley hit me up on pm or something. shipping i could do. wink.gif
