Thumbs up Lambo Doors on my tib

Okay, getting ready to get a Protocol Lambo Kit, and wondering if anyone has seen a diy for a rd tib?

Or anyone that has installed them that may be able to give some tips to save me some time.

And lastly if anyone has heard of any good or bad things about Protocol Performance products? Thanks guys

Oh yeah here is the ones I'm thinkin of getting.

First off....I would NEVER in a million years get a weld on kit. It would make your life hell if you ever needed to take the kit off and return to stock hinges. I personally have an issue with lambdo doors, and they can really screw up your car after leaving them on for awhile. Plus, if its a low quality kit, the hinges will eventually bend and the doors wont shut all the way or at all (depending on how bad quality they are).

Plus, lambo doors are like altezzas now. EVERYONE freaking has them. Its gotten to the point where having normal opening doors is more unique than anything. *lol* I guess I'm not a good person though to talk about this modification to, since I'm biased and already hate the mod. But for those that want to go forward with it, more power to them and I wish them luck with it.

But honestly, if you're definitely going to do this, dont get a weld on kit. Find a bolt on kit thats made specifically for your car. Stay very far away from the "universal fit" kits. smile.gif

I hear ya I just cam across some those and they are apparently the same people that make autoloc. Instead I just took your advice Visionz and going for a Vertical Doors Inc kit, Have a couple people offering to me for advertising on my tib at like 750-850 so I don't guess that is that bad.

Also wondering what type of damage can occur from the doors over time?

Does anyone know if the fender must be rolled to install the kit?

Shouldn't have to mod the fenders at all.

Make sure the doors are the kind that let you swing them out also not just up. A flipped car with vertical only doors is not cool. I know there are kits that allow both but I don't know which ones do.

They put stress on the door hinge area which can deform the metal over time.

I just hear of alot of people having to roll their fenders, just making sure I don't have to get a fender roller.

I am just going to get the Direct Bolt-On From Vertical Doors Inc, since they are so well known.

Anyway to successfully reinforce the door hinge brace?

from what I've seen, the adjustable ones have a bunch of adjustments that don't want to adjust properly because it's dealing with 400lbs of metal. Everyone ends up with the doors rubbing the dashboard and crashpad when they go up

It also depends on the kit....not sure if you have to with VDI, but alot of kits you DO have to roll out the fenders a little bit to prevent rubbing when the doors go up. Its alot of work, and sometimes alot of headaches when you install them, but if you're willing to go through all that....do it up.

Personally, if it were me...I would just shave your door handles competely, install poppers, and leave the doors on normal. wink.gif

Why?

And Visionz, that is why I chose the VDI kit since it is supposed to be the best.

In wv shaved handles are illegal unless you have and emergency door release, which would be a pain.

Anyone on the site that has VDI doors or just and vertical for that matter
