Intercooler mounted on a trunk?PICSINSIDE
I don't know much about this car, but when I stoped to get some coffee, I saw this and had to take some pictures. Now I don't see how that intercooler is very effecient like that where air can't pass through it. What also has me thinking is the vents underneath it, and if the engine is at the rear?
Or it could just be a fake intercooler to fool others...
Sorry I couldn't take more angles but the guy was staring at me through the window.

thats an mr2. they are mid engined so that is sitting right on top of the engine; maybe it was just easier? but like you said, i dont think itd be very efficient....
I know that the mr2s that were turbos stock had a fmic... so his must not have been turbo to begin with or everything would have been laid out for him already. Also, thats a really f*cked up looking ic. it looks like 3 tanks... weird

Front mount? Are you sure.. that is like a mile of piping from the engine to the intercooler and back again...
not 100% positive, but of the 3 mr2's Ive had a close look at that had the "turbo" badge on the back, all 3 had a fmic that looked exactly the same, and in each case looked pretty old.... i just assumed it came with the car looking at the condition it was in. one things for sure, i know it CAN be done.
I'm pretty sure MR2s are front-mount stock, I've only seen a few though. They aren't extremely large cars though, so it really isn't horrendously long amount of piping... but I bet it still loses 3-4PSI through the intercooler stock.
