Well, no matter what kind of hood scoop you buy, if you want it to be truly functional and serve a purpose, then you have to cut into your hood. If you're not comfortable doing that, or want to try it, then I would have someone professionaly do it. The inverted hood will have to have a larger hole cut than the standard "above hood" scoop.

Either way, once you get the hole cut, and you fit the scoop in or on top of the hood, you'll have to make sure it's secured well enough for you to mold it without it shifting on you when you're adding the bondo and fiberglass to make it smooth and blended with the rest of the hood.

Once you have it secure enough, then start by doing some light sanding so that edges flow with the hood a little easier. Then after that, you can start the bondo and fiberglass process. Remember, it's better to have 3 or 4 coats than to do 1 or 2 heavy coats. Sand everything until it all perfectly smooth, prime, and paint, and you're good to go. Good luck.... wink

There are scooped hoods on ebay for gen1 and gen2 cars. You might want to check them out.

I'm not a fan of the gen2 hood, but the gen1 hood isn't bad.
