define "a while"

define "cold"

Mine don't, give it 5-10 seconds and they're at their full potential.

Where did you buy them from?

On to full bright in 10-15 seconds with my DD set on our day of -14F. If that ain't cold, I don't want to know what you're talking about. When it's that cold, they tend to start a little dimmer than normal, but still fire up to par in the same amount of time.

Sorry, should have been more specific. When I say a while I meant around a minute to a minute and a half to get fully bright. They're really dim when I first turn them on, and it only happens when its get really cold out. Wondered if it was normal and other people had the same occurrence.

How old is your battery? Cold weather days on a stocker from 03 could have a lot to do with lower power at start up.
