Default hey guys any suggestions

hi ive never messed with a car but i always had a passion

i failed 3 computer classes back in high school cus i looked at aftermarket parts all day instead of work anyway

i would really like help making my stock tib 01 into something to look at

im on a 1k budget
i will make more mods later but i want something that looks good to drive around tilll i save up some more

(like my car to look a good bit diff ea time anyway)

so far this is wat im thinking
http://www.grounddynamics.com/Templates/fr...SubFolderId=409
body kit(cus im on a budget)

299+shipping(im saying 350 not sure) so 650 to spend

then add some neon

http://www.urban-neon-car-lights.com/car-l...-light-kit.html
with music you know

130$ so thats 520 left

my freind is an excellent mechanic and a fairly good painter
he will do labor free so i was going to get around 700 dollars and pay for maybe just some paint with some metallic

and that will bust my budget but be ok

so any suggestions or advice i really need some

before spending a thousand dollars

Damn...$300 for that kit? I paid almost 4 times that much for mine! But mine is a real Club GTR kit. The one from ground Dynamics is a major knock off. Also, take warning that I have a couple of friends who got kits from that company, and they said the fitment was absolutely horrible. They had to throw away the bumpers because they were so far off from fitting right. I know you said your friend is doing the labor and work, but if the kit you're looking at is anything like the ones my friends had for their civics....then he's not gonna want to touch the work.

But good luck with everything. Maybe you'll get lucky and it'll fit somewhat decent. I would definitely scrap the neon and get yourself some performance stuff. With $200, you can get a cheap ebay cold air intake, a universal muffler, and have a shop like Monro Muffler or Midas install a crushed bent cat back exhaust system. Then with the left over money, get yourself a small stereo system or find some one local on Craiglist selling rims, or get yourself some suspension upgrades. *lol* Lots of good stuff....leave the neon for later when you get the rest of the car straight. smile.gif

Good luck!

Ditch the kit and lower the crap out of it. Take the rest of the dough and invest in some rims, then add as you get more cash.

over on RDTiburon someone may be trying to get rid of a turbo kit for $1000, its a bolt on kit that comes with everything.

The kit looks good...but that's if you can get it to fit.

If you're stuck on the neon idea get LED bars instead of actual neon. They're way better IMO and they are a lot more durable.

Rims, lowering, and tint will do more to set off your car than any other combination for the money IMO.

For a grand, you'll get the most basic basic basic set up. If you want to run more power or more EFFICIENT power, then you'll have to make some upgrades to the car.
