Default Headlamp cleaner

Hey everyone,

My 98's headlamp and foglamp covers have yellowed and are not clear as they once used to be... (the difference between them and my new clear corners is very noticable)

Is there any product out there that you have personally used or have heard of that works well? I looked on the net and there are some, but I don't want to spend 20 bucks on something that might not work. Also, maybe any home remedies?

Anyhow, if anyone has some ideas let me know! Thanks,

Tom

Try Mother's Plastic Polish, that worked pretty well on a friend's car.

gotta say,

Mother's products OWNZ!

I used Mother's chrome polish to shine up everything chrome on a friends semi and it just ate right through all the black spots on the smoke stack and after buffing was so shiny. Looked brand new.

I'm sure their others products will be just as helpful.

This was posted not too long ago, you can use the same materials for the headlights but you'll need put a little more effort into it.

Thanks Redz... I used the search function for awhile and couldn't find it so I wandered aimlessly through the boards til lo and behold I found it.

The link that silvertibbs posted above (thank you very much by the way) was however much more helpful than your comment. Really tho, a simple "check out the DIY forum" would have been great.

What do you guys think about this?

When someone gets a chance, can the link get remapped please since I can't get it to open or work? Would like to fix my yellowing problem also.

Thanks in advance

Link is updated. Next time check the DIY forum, if you read the thread you would have seen that's where it was.

Sometimes though it doesn't show all the threads. Just go to the very bottom of the page and you'll see a show threads drop down menu. Select "Show All" and that will show everything ever posted in there.

Funny thing,

I did go to the DIY section prior to posting my request. When I went there, I went to the DIY listing, scrolled down to exterior and clicked the said link, when it came up with a webpage not available error, I was an idiot to think about reading all the DIY topics in the main DIY page to find the topic.

But nonetheless, I do appreciate the help.

No problem. Just make sure you look around as much as you can before asking things like that. If you do everything you can, nobody can give you sh!t for it. wink1.gif

Good luck with that BTW.
