Hail Damage
Last night we saw some pretty heavy hail around here. Bigger than golfballs for sure. Anyway my car had been sitting in between my house and garage with no hood or engine (turbo install) under a car cover. me and some friends went to play some bingo and we came back and my buddies tib was all dented up at his house. smashed a corner (i already tried to push clear corners on him) and dented the whole thing up. I figured mine wouldnt be as bad but when I woke up this morning I took off the cover and it was majorly messed up. Roof was all dented up, fenders totally f'ed, drivers mirror was broken off.
At first I was mad but after thinking about it I realized that I have full coverage and my insurance will cover all the damage. Whats even better is that my dad has a friend that has a body shop and hell help me get some stuff with the insurance money. Im talking Erebuni fenders and mirrors, brand new full paint job, body kit install with paint. Basically this is what I needed for things to kinda start falling into place for me with my car. I am broke right now and even thinking about painting a body kit was killing me. Now Ill have to pay the 250 deductible and let the rest be covered. Im at the girlfriends house right now but I will get some pics tomorrow afternoon when i get home from work.
Kabir (Zoned), you see any hail out by you at all? If so, hows the tib doing? Same questions to anyone else around this area. Hope noone gets screwed by the hail

First thing I thought when I read this thread was..HAIL?!
Dude, in EC, the weather's awesome! I can't even imagine it hailing..
You're DAMN lucky you have full coverage (and that you kept it even though you knew you wouldn't be driving the tib for a few months), if that was my tib I'd probably be crying..lol. I have the cheap insurance.
So did you win at bingo? I wanna see you get that airram, your car is gonna be a beast...Hit me up once is done cuz I wanna ride in that thing.
I'm checking the weather right now, if there's any sign of hail I'm finding a garage asap..

it may sound good ,, but i wouldnt give your hopes up.. insurances dont cover full stuff on hail dmg. I also wouldnt be giving my hopes on getting all that money to buy all them items.. (unless you already got the bodykit sitting in your garage)
but best of luck too you.

i do have the kit sitting in my garage. and no i didnt win at bingo so no airram for me at this point. We got hit really hard with hail here, i couldnt believe it. There is another member from Milwaukee on the forum, maybe hell post up. Pics coming
when i had hail damage on my car (3000 dollars) they had to inspect the car before and then after repairs (this is only if repairs are done) just to make sure that no shady deals were made or anything like that... i think they call it insurance fraud... might wanna be careful doin a whole lot with the money

wow, reading through that thread was awesome.. (being a weather major).
despite the car...
those were some awesome pictures. Here is Arizona (at a mile high elevation) we get the brunt of small hail and during June-July-August in Prescott we get thunderstorms EVERY day around 3pm-4pm. It's a awesome view. We sit through about 30minutes of the downdrafts (and get inches of rain in that half hour) and then climb up on the roof as it dries under the sun and watch the thunderstorms and squall lines as they pass over Mingus Mtn and over into Cottonwood. Awww man, it's an awesome sight. The lighting is like fireworks.
We got our first taste today, the lighting return strokes would last for 4-5seconds, it was amazing the sky would be lit up like it was daytime for 5seconds long...
awesome, it's been EIGHT YEARS since i've been in a REAL thunderstorm..
aww, i miss florida..

I got my first taste of Hail Damage Friday. 02.gif. estimated at $4000+ . Oh well, time to start looking for a new hood! (its the only new thing i get). Good luck Ericy. Hope you get it all fixed up and maybe make it out with some new parts. By the way....my deductible is only $100 :-P.
