Holy wow. Wonder how those hook in?
The one in the fender area bolts to a OEM bolt spot, but I don't know about the one on the hinge.
Someone get that bish, it wouldn't matter if it's CF/FG or Steel hood there at ALL!
Damn, if I just had the cash right now.

Yeah, we know, I sent him there to do the R&D for them.
BUT...
The ones from Redline are riveted in place. Most folks don't have a rivet gun, I don't, and I'm not buying one to use once, not to mention, I'm not riveting ANYTHING into my CF hood. If you look where they are mounted, I don't see how you can guarantee you get it measured right so they go on/in right when closed.
The ones posted on ebay here bolt to a OEM bolt position on the fender, and to the metal hood hinge. So you are pretty much guaranteed not to mess up the install. I went out and looked at my hood hinges and there is no hole in that section, so I'm assuming you have to drill one?
That's pretty hard/thick steel to drill through there, not to mention a small width to drill in.
These would work well for FG/CF hoods I think, just need someone to try it.
ANYONE WITH A RD1 confirm if your hood hinges have that hole or not?

No need for one. Rivets have a tendancy to come loose over time, and can be a PITA to get out to replace. I've never found a spot that I couldn't get a nut/bolt combo into, so why put in a rivet?
My RD1 does not have that hole in hood hinges but there will be no problem drilling them. I have placed a bid on those struts and when I get them (if I do :-D) I'll let you know how those fit in.

shit.. I hope rivets don't come loose over time, the aluminum sheet metal laid out over the wing's body of the airplanes I fly is riveted and I fly through -10degree Celsius weather, deal with 500feet per minute downdraft's, and maneuvers stressing the airplane up to 4x it's weight (i.e. 4 G's). I sure hope the rivets don't fall out, !!! lol

^^^
You'd have to see the pic. It's on the SIDE of the hinge.
Don't be a dipshit, dipshit.
LOL
Cheap automotive rivets DO loosen up. I've used them before. Sorry, I like to have stuff screwed or bolted in place, easy to take off when you need to.
Also, like I said, the Redline ones attach to the HOOD, and I'm not putting any rivets, bolts, or screws, through my CF.
