i know i have a lot of questions, but 2day is kinda a take care my car problems day.....:-D. ok big annoying thing is when i drive the fuel tank door pops open. i dont do anything to make it. i dont even have to be pushing the car....its just like it hits a big bump and it pops open! any ideas on how to fix this? if not ill take it to the dealer, but id like to save my money for other things.

The dealer will want $96 for the part you need. You might just need to tighten the bolts. Make sure everything is tight. If it is, go to the junk yard and find a replacement little black piece that keeps the door shut. I got two for $5.

can u be a little more detail on the part, and where these bolts are, actually how i get to them

Open the door.Look inside,toward the front of the car.You will see 2 bolts,one above the other.They are 10mm in size.The black thing they are talking about is that piece you will see toward the rear.This is what holds the door shut.When you pull the latch,it pulls inward so that it lets go of the latch on the tank door.

oh i see, and thats what i probably need to replace. thx guys, now i gotta hope the junk yard has an old tib i can "borrow"

Hyundai used the same part for like every car they ever made. That's not entirely true, but Excels, Sonatas, Elantras, and Tiburons all use the same part. I'm not sure about Scoupes.

ok i took a look and saw that the little black thing is there and "seems" to be working and i tighted the two bolts next to it. i have an extention now and am going after the bolts on the other side..... ill let u know what happens.

well, it seems it hasnt popped open yet, maybe i fixed it! im hoping so....however i have my doubts
