alright well i figured i might as well get around to solving this problem

I had HID's for my H7's and H3's

My H7's never really used to flicker until a couple months ago, i can have everything turned off, and ill be driving down or idling and they will still flicker, tried installing relays, didnt work, there the Halo HID's, and im pretty sure its past the 1 year warranty now

My H3's have flcikered for alot longer but one of the balasts has a hole in it from the accident so im just gona pass it off as that even though they flickered or refused to turn on before, installed relay here too

now could this be a problem with my electrical system? since i had relays installed on Both HID's, both are good quality kits from the reviews on the forum and judging how many people have problems

or did i just luck out on getting a couple so-so kits of the bunch

i doubt it, im 99% positive thats an issue with the kit. in my case i had one side with a VERY slight flicker, and new bulbs fixed it.

Had issues aswell, bad ballast on left light... then few months later right light started.

With Relays and still issues. Couple of suggestions

1) Switch the lamp with the other side see if issue persists
-Will verify if bad ballast or bulb
2)If still under warrenty contact for replacement

its not just one that flickers though they both do it at the same time

if this was ballasts, which seems to be the common answer lol wouldnt they flicker independently? like if one ballast was bad, it would flicker and the other wouldnt, if they were both bad, they would flicker as they please wouldnt they?

what im trying to get at is each light is controlled by 1 ballast, if one flickers it shouldnt make the other one flicker at the exact same moment the other one does would it?

check your grounds, and your power feed for the HID's. ive seen a few HID problem's with flickering, and twice it was just shitty grounds or battery connection's.

I keep looking at this thread and wanting to help by giving you a suggestion and tell you what to check. I'm looking at it like, ooh an electronics thread. Then i keep stepping back because I don't have HIDs. I'm a good tech though.

First off, rule out physical problems, do they flicker with the car in the on position but not started?

Swap bulbs to see if the problem follows the bulb or remains with the ballast

If the problem does not follow the bulb, then you might want to contact the manufacturer, or attempt corrective maintenance with a large hammer or blunt object of another type.

Check all physical connections to ensure that everything is hoooked up. If wire taps were used, make sure they remain tightly installed and give them an extra crimp.

Thats really all you can do at operator level without voiding your warranty.
