Nope, the Canadians get an "SE" trim Tiburon, that comes with the "Type R" spoiler and the "SE Type Aluminum Alloy Wheels". Pretty much the same (externally) as the Korean Tiburon Turbulence "Type R", sans the side skirts.

 

Its a 2001 SE...everything I got came standerd with that package, including the wing, leather, and wheels. Everything except for the bug delfector. I removed it recently cause of break up the smooth curves of the car. It will go back on whenever I drive out of town.

Those rims are a meesly 15". I plan on having them replaced with 17" next year.

I was going to get a bra but I had a bad experience with my last one on my Probe.

I don't belive its a a Canada, I don't think. There are only three packages for the Tiburon now, Plain, SE, and SE w/leather.

I wasn't aware the US and Canadian versions were any different. Save for the metric conversions, what are the differences?

 

you guys have KOREAN SPEC Wheels and Wings and maybe features that are not availble in US but warranty kinda evens it out.

 

The US did not get the SE Tiburon. We only have one trim level on the 2000+'s. The most you can get on a Tib down here is a with the Package 6 which includes leather/cd(different than the one in the SE)/sunroof/ABS, but the "racing-type" spoiler and 7-spoke wheels are not available.

I thought the spoiler was still standerd on the SE models. As for the warranty, you are right, Canadians get hosed on the warranty... its about 2/3 of what you guys get.

Upon comparing the models from the US and Canada, I found myself shocked. I never noticed. You guys don't get the cool wing. Jeez, almost all of ours get the "Type-R" spoiler since the SE model is such a good value. However, the leather is rare so I am happy I snagged the only one in the city.

Also, I noticed your wheels are different. I never picked on that before. However, 15" is still 15" and they will be replaced in the Summer months.

It mentions a ETR Stereo CD. Is the US Clarion as well?

However, another big difference is that our Hyundais don't include ABS. I do belive we can get it but we have to specifically ask for it and have that car shipped in. Not a single model I have seen offered includes ABS. Its an odd ommision.

Our cars cost about the same. I think my fully loaded car was about $24 000 cdn ($15 600 us). It included the Factory spec wheels and wing but not ABS and the cool long warranty. Personally...I like my wing. It draws a lot of attention...on the other hand, I would have really liked ABS and that warranty. The balance is a matter of opinion.
