Your still pretty new so ill let this slide, but when you find an old thread, try not to bring it up to ask a question that doesnt HAVE to be in that thread.

Just go ahead and start a new thread like i have done for you.

and dont hack up a CF hood to put a FG vent in it, im sure it will come out crappy and it surely wont be as structurally sound as the hood was before you touched it wink1.gif

sorry bout the trouble. i didn't realized it'd been covered, i searched but maybe it used different phrases than what i searched for-...

i was thinking carbon fiber because (from what i know) it's lighter...??? i know it's easier to find. and i know it's pretty strong. i'd imagine the fiberglass hoods are cheaper, but i haven't seen many. sorry again!

you can fiberglass anything to anything as long as it sticks. if i were you i'd get a fiberglass hood, fiberglass vent, cut out a hole and use fiberglass to mold the vent into the hood and put a nice vent in the hole so nothing dirty gets in there.

if you have a carbon fiber hood, than there's no point in destroying it. if you're a crazy magician like ajay is, then you can do whatever you put your mind to. contact ajay for fiberglassing advice. he does his own work with his own two hands.
