I got to thinking!!! On the RD2 and 1 tibs, the body line in the rear has this same type of bow to it that meets the hatch. What does everyone think about cutting the rear quarter out to fit this same air intake scoop in place on both sides? It would be alot of work, but I think it would look sweet! It could probably be functional to cool off your rear breaks... Just a thought, let me know what you think.. I might give it a try...

 

hmmm. that would be... .im thinking.. it would either look REALLLY kool, or end up looking like poo.. lol i would try that. might look awesome.. i just think, even though the body line would work with it, the shape and style of the car might not accept a vent like that too much.

placement with this mod would be KEY.. a little to far back, fwd. down or up, would make or break this mod..

 

Check out Blacktib's car. He has vents in his quater panels, but lower. Might help.

I've always wanted to see it done on a Tib & have even contemplated doing a more squarish version of the scoop (a la Gallardo) on my car... I'll prolly never end up doing it though sad.gif

 

Ok IMHO I'd take that scoop and place it 3/4 the distance to the rear of the sail panel (curve right behind the small side glass) on centered on the 'buldge'. But to make it look good you would have to extend the line of the scoope to the rear of the quarter and onto the hatch and mold it all toghether. Also you would hva to make some sort of ducting to either the inside of the wheel well (brake cooling) or something, otherwise you might as well put a parachute on your car since all that air would be forced into the 'trunk' of the car.



But if you can do it I think that would be a damn sexy mod!

 

i would love to see how it would really look on our cars. if it looked good i would definatly buy it and for that matter i might even look into getting the vent in CF.

I LOVE the idea. Played with it myself.... Have a Chop of it somewhere... will post if I'll find it.

 

I think that it could look awsome if you manage to do a good job and place it in the right place, youv'e got some balls mate if you attempt it cuz if you get it wrong its gonna cost ya a lot to put it right i'd imagine.

the ferrari scoop would look nice but as stated, placement would be key

Thanks for the input guys! It sounds like this body mod is a go ahead and I'll work on it this winter after the car show season ends! If anyone can photo chop this mod on a tib... let me know! That would be awesome!
