I've had my 2001 Tibby for a week or two now, bought it for 5700.00 with a salvage title (I never plan on selling it, love it too much, and it's been rebuilt really well). I've never been a showy type of person, but I feel the need to make it just a touch bit purtier. tongue.gif Not that it already isn't smile.gif

I've already got an AEM Intake and a custom-made exhaust on it, and is fairly fast enough for me now. Prob cause its a manual and the engine and car only have 10500 miles on them smile.gif I'll work on more whp later i think.

Reason for the price being so low along with the title is there's a good 700.00 hit on the side where someone hit it on the lot. When the spring comes I'm getting that fixed, as it is only exposed primer now and won't rust. Since I'm going to have most of the car's driver side sanded down anyway, I figured I might as well get a kit since it'll save me a little bit of money in the end.

The only problem is, I love the rear-end of my Tibby. And IMO, all the aftermarket kits mess up the flow of the back of the car. I was wondering if there was any site where I could buy maybe Veilside or a decent knockoff skirts and front, and I was wondering if the difference of the rear of the car being stock would look wierd. I've tried picturing it in my head, but I don't know. Maybe someone has seen it, or maybe seen a decent rear on a kit?

I am no fan of the RD2's looks... but I can tell you this. Just because that spot on the side is primered does not mean it will not rust. Primer is a porous paint.. liquid of any sort will go right through it to the metal underneath.

Hmm... I did not know that... might have to up my plans a little bit then :?
The primer is only exposed for like an inch and half... would rust damage, if it occured, matter too much in the end? And would touchup paint, even though I hate it to death, help any? Bleh, I spent more of my childhood learning about how a car runs then the exterior properties of paint and such 8O

Well, you should really look then mang, there are some GOOD kits out there. If you are thinking of buying a fake, you really should take a look at the full kits for the Zefiro, or Zefiro Turbo Edition.

WOW>

The backs are hot on those 2.

Hrm... I think I spoke too soon. While rummaging around the internet, I found one of those Erebuni kits, that only has a rear quarter skirt, so my back stays intact. I know that I'll probably have major fitment issues, but what do you guys think?

If your going for a kit. I would look best if you got all 4 sides. Reason being that most kits are going to lower the loo of the car a few inches. If you only get the front and sides, the rear is going to be at a different level than the rest of the car. IMO it would look bad. :?

hamhead I would get that Erebuni kit, honestly that is exactly what you're looking for. I agree with Cyber about the looking funny part but this Erebuni kit comes with rear skirts that you use with your stock bumper to eliminate that problem. But then again, Jaws021 has tubry skirts on his tib and a stock rear, it looks okay. It won COTM.

On a side note, if you go this way, at least you won't have to deal with taking the rear bumper off. REAR BUMPER = PITA. Check out my thread in the Showroom under "Bone to Pick with Hyundai" you'll see what I menan . LOL
