Lookin good Pandy

I was considering doing this to my altezzas but theyre in piss poor condition lol. I did however make the attempt once but couldnt figure out how to remove the inside lenses and gave up cause i figured taping them would be a b*tch lol!

They look really good. I want to see an entirely white aftermarket light except for the bulbs of course. Like the black border in white. It would flow so nicely.

Topspeed.. Getting the covers off was pretty easy. 375 f on the oven and sit on the floor opening the door every so often. When the covers had steamed up I took them out and gently pryed them apart smile.gif

Taping them yeah, sucked a bit, but hey I had no choice. I cant get anymore tickets, and I dont want a cop to use that as a reason to stop me.

Blank. Time was of the essence. Its the end of the month in copland and theyre on a ticket frenzy, so I didnt have time to make them as nice as I wanted. Also the cracked parts were on the black edging, and repainting them white would have taken time and alot of masking/exact-o work. That coupled with the fact that I 'wrap' the whole edge of the tail with black vinyl wrapping tape and it wouldnt have worked in white. What I would love to have done (if the inner lense covers hadnt melted on reverse) was leave the cover off completely. I mean then it would have looked totally badass with an inset tail with the lense covers all sticking out smile.gif on these tails the lense cover (the large one) isnt even really needed tbh, it's just that I would have had exposed reverse bulbs.

The round colored 'covers' inside appear to be fixed in with superglue, and they shatter when you try and pull them out. This didnt matter to me because I had to remove them anyway, but I would hate to try and remove them in one piece, I would assume it's pretty much impossible smile.gif

QUOTE (Dark Shark @ Jun 27 2007, 01:36 PM)
^^^ I use that stuff ALL THE TIME, I have had very good results with it as well, on plastic especially, but I also used it on my speaker boxes fing02.gif

It's bloody cheap too, I get it @ walmart for around the $2.50 per can.. I dont know what's 'in it' but its sooooo nice to paint with and very hard to get runs out of unless youre beiing really clumsy.. I was worried it wouldnt sand but nope, it sands too AND I put the Kustom shop clear coat over it (and was expecting a reaction) but nope, all went very well.

Definitely the ONLY choice for painting plastic tbh, shame they dont do it in flake and more snazzy colors, its only really base colors. But, all I needed was some white smile.gif

If you hadn't had a melted reversing light.. I would have considered just tinting out the clear parts in a nice smoke.. That has always been my complaint with those lights.. the big clear lense for the flasher has the red reflector..makes it look sort of like an eyeball!
