Hey all, can anyone tell me where the DRL module is for an x3 accent?
i had a spare set of ballasts kicking around, and stumbled across some bulbs, so i'd like to put them in the accent, but when i plugged them in.. they flicker when the DRL's are on. when i put the headlight headlights full on, the hids turn on normally.
so i know it has 100% something to do with the DRL, since the hid's use only a single filament bulb for lobeam only.. no provision for drl in it.
So i'd like to remove the drl maybe?
Thanks

We don't have DRL's, so I don't really know. If you figure out where the wires are getting their power from to run their DRL's then you could probably cut that wire. Don't most DRL's just run a lower voltage to the stock bulbs?

Hey I had the exact same problem when I installed my HIDs on my LC2. the flickering is your DRL for sure mine was a grey metal box about the size of your fist that has a 20 pin connector to it. It was on my right side underneath my battery. I'll try to take a pic of it and post it. I did see a post of it somewhere on HA or Hyundaiperformance.com.

If you speak to Jay-M on RDTiburon.com, he will hook you up with a HID relay kit.
This kit uses the DRL power and the headlamp power to energize a relay which supplies 12V power to the HID ballast. You could easily make one from a relay at Radio Shack, but make sure it can handle the amount of amperage your ballasts require.
This is something you want to take care of quickly. Every time the HID energizes, the bulb dies a bit more.
Hope that helps.
