Doing a black roof tomorrow
Got some matte black vinyl and doing my roof tomorrow. I know alot of people usually have shops do it for them but I'm gonna try and do it myself. Should be pretty straight forward but if anyone here has done it themselves can you supply some tips or tricks? I have the vinyl, cleaning solution for the roof, soap solution to apply the vinyl, a bunch of different squeegees and plastic cards to get all the water out, a hair dryer with different heat settings to help get some of the bubbles out, and a couple of exacto knives. Is that all I need or am I missing something?

Nobody asked but I will say it anyways because I just spent Christmas scrubbing glue off my windows. The vinyl roof thing is played out. It's 2013 not 2006. Why go through all that trouble and expense to put some plastic and nasty gooey glue that will melt, bubble up, scratch, tear, get poo'ed on by birds, and you'll have put in all this effort just to look like it has somekind of racing heritage?
$50 for vinyl + products to install
$200+ for paint
Both look almost the same, but the vinyl can come off easily if you get tired of it. Its a no brainer to choose the vinyl route.

Yep...and with the right products, the vinyl glue comes off easily too. I have plans for a similar project come spring.
