Default Detailing your car

I am getting more interested into the detailing aspect of my car. What products do you recommend?

What's the best method for avoiding swirls in your paint?

What is the best wax and how often?

Everyone is going to have their own preferences when comes to products. Certain products will be subjective also. I personally really like Meguiars and Mothers line of products. For a quick detailer, the Liquid Ice spray wax is good too....

The best equipment would be a DA Polisher like this (can easily burn through paint though if not careful)

But some people use the cheap random orbitals like this with ok results

As far as how often you should wax the car, again...its going to be subjective and depends on the type of products you use. Really good products should last a while and you wont need to apply it as much. I on the other hand may not use the best products out there, but I'm very picky about my car and I'm one of those freaks that actually enjoy waxing and polishing. So I'll strip the wax, wash, clay bar, polish, and wax at least once every 3-4 weeks just for the hell of it.

I started with a cheap orbital from walmart. my results were decent. I am using a Porter Cable and let me tell you, if you have time , patience and can master how to handle it.... you will be in for a treat.

However, just for a basic wash/wax style:

my #1 product is Chemical Guys Black Light. Best $25 i've ever spent in my life.

Topping off BL with Chemical Guys V7 sealer , there are no words for what you are about to yield.

PS - all CG products smell amazing!
