Default Dealer detail before buying car

How good are the details that dealers do before you buy a car? Are they crap quality that leave swirls and haze on your paint or do they usually do a pretty decent job at making things look terrific? My car had some hazing and a few swirls when I picked mine up from the dealer.

This will vary *wildly* from dealer to dealer and from technician to technician.

I always tell the sales guy, if the detailer sprays that slimy s**t on my engine, the deal is off.
