Default De-badging

This may seem like a silly question, but I had to ask because I haven't done this to any of my cars. I did a search on this topic, but really couldn't find any info to satify my curiosity so here goes...

Does de-badging a car take away from it's residual value?

Does de-badging a car hurt it's resale value?

Any thoughts and or experience with this matter would be appreciated.

Why would it hurt the resale value? You can always buy and apply new badges if you want to.

If you remove them with a screw driver and a hammer, yes.... yes it will hurt resale.

Any type of modification will lower the cars value in a dealers eyes (for trade in purposes). The only way to get the most for your money is to leave it 100% stock.

^agreed. That said, unless you are restoring classic cars for a living, a car is a consumable pretty much guaranteed to lose value no matter what. Drive it how you like, decorate it how you like, and worry about resale value when you are trying to sell it. Until then, YOU have to look at it every day!
