Hello Everyone

I just recently purchased a shark spoiler for my 2nd gen tib and I wanted to know if anyone had experience in installing it. I know there has to be custom work done on the trunk but I just don't know how much. Any help with this installation would be appreciated.

Thank You

i think it would just be a "line it up properly and then drill holes for it" type job.

Well for starters you have to fill the holes from your old wing.....You them need to trim the posts for your new wing to fit the contours of the deck, Make sure both are the same height or you wing will sit crooked. Than drill new holes to mount it and paint to match car. hardest part is getting both posts the same height.

Yeah, the 1st gens deck was a bit flatter.

I just put a Type R spoiler on mine and WOW! I love it!

Good to see it's on.

How are the scratches?
I *personally* think it needs to be repainted, touch up paint won't do it,... but it's up to you.
Atleast it's the same color laugh.gif

It's great man. A bit of rubbing compound got rid of most of the scratches, but get this...

I'm down in Belen NM getting my hair cut and the owner of the barber shop likes my car. He offers to buy my old spoiler for his Honda and will pay me with touching up all the dings and scratches on my car and wing. Sound like a deal? I've seen his work, he does good stuff on lowriders and such, trucks.

The worst part is the footprint of the Type R isn't the same as the stock one. It fits the same holes and the wiring plugs in perfect, but the footprint on the R is smaller so there are wear marks on the trunklid that need to be painted. I'll take pics and put it all in a writeup this month.
