Ummmm... No it won't happen because there has to be a MARKET for them.

APC won't waste the time to produce the lights because there is no demand for them.

Great first post though. rolleyes.gif

Not all the APC tail lights are that bad. Some of them look like they are just thrown together and rushed to shelves to Honduh drivers will slap them on their car. Quite honestly, I think the stock Elantra tails are a little week looking. If you look at the head lamps up front, all the lights are in round housings, I think the same idea should be applied to the back. Its should look good though.

I tried early 2002 to get them made and hootie has a point (a rather negative one though) every company I talked to needed to be guaranteed min. sale of 1000 units (at $100-$150 a piece)before they would begin production. leaves us with three options

1. get 1000 signatures not really gonna happen
but keep trying
2. Get vendors ie local speed shops, SR, KORE,
AX, KSPEC to each order a couple dz units (or
couple hubdred dz. tongue.gif )

3. Find private investor who is willing to invest
$100k - $150k in the hopes that they can
later sell all the units

also keep in mind it would have to be 1000 units per model year (or tail lamp design since some years didnt change)

number two might be our only option unless we can find a company that will make smaller quantities but then we may have to worry about quality

Didn't mean to be TAHT negative, just real.

As you mentioned, no company is gonna waste the R&D, test fitting, marketing, etc. the clear lights unless they know they have people demanding them and/or orders.

You may be able to get them custom made in AUS but I'm sure it will be either costly or cheaply made.

Names on paper don't matter to a company unless they say Franklin. You could probably find 2,000 signatures if you tried hard enough... but would all 2,000 have the money to go, right then? That's what you need.

I'm usually not the pessimist, but Clear = Illegal as we all know, so I doubt any aftermarket companies are going to invest any money in a project that they now KNOW will get the buyers in trouble. Especially with the limited #'s that the Hyundai community will bring to them.

Hi all,

Been off net for while due to internet connection
Now that i`m back on line i`ll be able to chase this up
I can see everyones point about the clear lights being illegal but what i`m trying to do is make them so they are legal
If this means they have to be altezza style then so be it
Last thing i want is to be pulled over and booked for these tail lights
We all have the same goal in mind
Make our cars look cool but legal smile.gif
