Default Clear Corner Problems

I spoke way too soon. I thought that I had installed my clear corners right, but I guess I really didn't. I had no problem getting it physically installed, but when I tried to use my blinkers, it didn't matter which side blinkers I turned on, both sides started blinking, like hazard lights. I thought that maybe the bulb was a wrong type, but I got APC bulbs and it even has a picture of a Tiburon on the label. I got #1156 bulbs, but I was told maybe it was #2357? I tried browsing the owners manual and didn't find anything on it. Is #1156 the right size? Also, the clear corners I got had a two pronged "socket" and the factory "socket" was three prongs, so I kept the original factory "socket". I thought that maybe the Korean Tibs were a little different in the lights, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm so lost, please help!!

I have 1156 hyper whites in the back and 1157 in the front. The thing that you need to make sure is that the bulb has 2 filaments on 'em. (I think that's what it's called) but they look like little bumps on the bottom of the bulb. If it has one then it won't be able to perfom both functions where if it has two it will work!! I ran into the same thing. I had to order mine off the net cuz nobody had them around here. Good luck and if you have any just ask! wink.gif

You also have to make sure that you don't used the two bump signal bulbs on the rear because the rear is different. I think it is a single bump bulbs, I'll give you the specific information tomorrow when I get a chance to look it up, and if you decides to get the hyper whites make sure you get the tinted bulbs and not the painted ones. I have a bulb that is produced by a Japanese company and it has not faded yet. I'll post up all this information tomorrow.

I did get some APC bulbs and they are painted... I didn't know about the effects of painted bulbs until it was too late. I will bring them back, but where can I get tinted bulbs at? Any good online stores? Also, I'm not quite sure what everyone is talking about the two bumps or filaments on the bulb. Do you mean two bumps inside the bulb or two bumps on the metal bottom part of the bulb that lock into the socket? Could someone try explaining that in a little more detail for me please? Thanks.

Hehehehhe

Think of it this way. For every function that it needs to perform it needs a bump. The back only blinks so it only needs one bump where as the front serves as a solid marker and a blinker so it needs two. wink.gif Does this make sense?? rolleyes.gif

I went to the auto shop and got #1157's instead and noticed the two bumps. I installed them and they work just great, thanks all! I know that it may be painted and will wear away soon, but if I brought them back, they would charge me 25% restocking fee. Plus, I talked to the person that worked there and he said if it fades soon I can replace them. So I'll give them a shot... Thanks everyone for your help!! smile.gif
